Do you already have Laser-Equipment?: medialas nexxus

medialas nexxus

Post by onesixty » Tue 11 Sep, 2012 6:50 pm

hey,

let me begin with saying im kinda new to lasers :p

a few months a go i bought the volkslaser alphalase 1.2watt projector wich i controlled with a scanmaster1
i liked the projector but after a while i want more....
the volkslaser was not fast enough and started flickering with more complex projections.

so now i'm looking at something a bit more expensive, im thinking about buying the 750RGB medialas nexxus with pangolin quickshow

but i cant find a lot of reviews so does anyone have user experience with this series?
and is the software good enough?

tnx!!

Grts, Olaf

Hi,

i am here a long Time but i dont know anyone who bought this Laser.
That should not mean that the Laser isnt good !! The Nexxus are surely not
to compare with the Made-in-China Volkslaser.

Most People here build their Lasers by themself. Why not you ??
OK, if you are not able to do there is no other way as buying a ready one.

About the Software: Try it out, there should be a Demo

tnx for the response.

like i said i'm quite new to lasers so i don't know how to.
is it easy to build one? is it just putting pieces together or am i gonna have a lot of setbacks along the way?
i study electricity but i'm not used to working with low voltage electronics.

i need something reliable, not that it breaks down 1 day before a gig and i have to fix it myself :p

It is possible..but not Easy.

There are 2 thinks to do..the mechanical and the electrical part.
The mechanical in my eyes is harder...Drills, Windings, Plates to get all Lasers to the same Beamheight...

Hey
Many people build the laser themselves, where they buy the laser diode?

ok i see, building one myself is probably not the best solution for me...

so can anyone recommend me some good quality projectors beside the medialas nexxus?
