Post by djwacko » Tue 15 Mar, 2005 3:35 pm

hi,

i want to attach pointer to a V-dosk speaker to point in te direction where the speaker is playing. this to be able to aimc the speaker.
no i don't have any idee of how much power(mw) it should be. it should be able to see a point at a distance of 120-200m.

thanks
ps: i hope someone can understand me

If you are looking to see the "dot" after 120-200m during the day time you are going to need something relatively powerful. As the beam goes away from the laser it disperses, when there is daylight this dispersing is faster and the beam can be seen less.

At night you may not have the problem, but youwill need something relatively powerful for that application during the day time. I'd say over 50mW green minimum, then you should be able to clearly see the dot, anything over 100mw and you will definately see your beam.
