testing a catweazle

Post by belman » Wed 16 May, 2001 2:17 pm

hey, i've come into possesion of a medialas catweazle VX. Its had a rough life and i'm not sure how to test if it still works - all the software appears to need registration, or i think it does because the laser is not doing much, it goes a bit spastic sometimes. Anyhow i was wondering if someone could suggest a free program that will definatley test if it works - i dont want to buy a program if it doesent. Thanks heaps for any response.

This is a problem. You cannot test the VX if you don`t have a device outputting Lasergraphics. The VX runs under LaserPainter and also Pangolin Software. The input connector is ILDA-Standard. You can also connect other showsystems when the signals X/Y are maximum +-5V and you have a +5V-level to enable the laser (blanking).
