Hat jemand ne Ahnung, wie ich die Pango mit nem SMPTE Timecode füttern kann. Da gibts doch, meine ich ne karte, welche das signal in midie wandelt, oder help

es gibt zwei Möglichkeiten.
1. Der Aquila Controller. Ist ein externes Gerät, hängt am Serial Port und ist für die Aufgaber "SMPTE" alleine unterfordert und auch recht teuer. Ist neu zu kaufen und läuft auch unter Win2000 ect. Infos sind auf der Pangolin Homepage zu finden http://www.pangolin.com/products/pricelist-smpte.htm
2. Die MQX32 ISA-Karte. Ist zu vernünftigem Preis zu haben, ist jedoch nicht mehr erhältlich und läuft nur unter Win95/98/98se. Ich verwende ausschliesslich MQX32 und bin vollauf zufrieden. Auf dem Gebrauchtmarkt tauchen die Karten gelegentlich auf. Bei Installationsproblemen mit MQX32 in Kombination mit QM2000 siehe hier.. www.arrowsound.ch/mqx32

Actually, there are several options for feeding SMPTE to the Pangolin LD or LD2000 system. Basically, if it supports SMPTE and it can be connected to a PC, Pangolin supports it!!
Yes, you can get an Aquila time code controller. As mentioned earlier, this is an external box that connects to the PC via a serial cable. The Aquila is a very good unit and supports many time code types including all flavors of SMPTE, AVL and BCD. This time code controller also has audio input and output transformers so you will be sure not to introduce a HUMMMM into a sound system if you use the Aquila. And finally, the Aquila has the best SMPTE recognition that I have seen. If the SMPTE is weak or of poor quality on the tape, the Aquila will work where other devices will not. These are all the good things. The only bad thing about the Aquila is the price at somewhere in the neighborhood of $700.
However, there are many PC products that also support SMPTE. The venerable MQX32 is one of them, but it is an ISA board and it is also no longer being manufactured. Most of the SMPTE options for a PC these days are either Parallel-Port-based devices that look like dongles, or devices that connect via USB port. There are a few PCI solutions though.
