Is it possible to handle the Bilda hardware without linux is necessary?
I don’t know if its already somewhere in the forum, because almost everything is German and I really do not understand that.

no, it is not. bILDA is linux only, and so far noone made the effort to write windows drivers, although I too really like to see it working with mamba

sorry, my english is not so good.

My Bilda device runns with XP and selve written software. But at the moment it is not so fast as desidet with Linux, because i have written my own firmware for Bilda. More infos under: (in german)

Hi,

Is it possible to get a copy of that software & firmware for research and testing. I finished my Bilda board a few weeks ago and i can't do anyting because linux is not my type of OS.

Btw.: Cypress has a lot of info and tools for the AN2135sc.

I would be willing to help with English translation.

You might also be able to get some support from the creators of the bILDA interface (link from their page or such).

Even though it is XP, interesting use of their hardware.

Hmmm... smile.... smile. Not very much! In the beginning i got some answers on my questions like "it is not possible with windows" ... "bilda is using a (mysterios <= my addon ) fast isochronus data transfer mode" (nothing for me, nothing for windows).

I build my Bilda hardware but I dont know, that "Open Source" means Linux. That was my failure.
But now it`s running, and pherhaps, in future i get the knowledge to use Fast isochronous Data transfer (USB) with windows. Then it wil be much better.

Because now, with the Block transfer, you can see some lines in the beam, while bilda is waiting for the next block (betwen point 12 and 13 usw.). I think i will eliminate this lines with changes in my firmware for Bilda.



yesterday i proged a WAVE for my Software. With Bilda and my scanners the Wave runns with 15000 Points/Sec. Very Fine!!!!

there are some missleading points that have been repeatedly posted in this forum.

- bilda is using the isochronous transfer mode which is one of three modes usb offers
- there is however definitely no problem with windows and this mode (actually M$ was one of the inventors of USB)
- as a matter of fact it seems just to be difficult to implement the driver functions needed and there is obviously no open source available for windows
- there is a driver dev. kit from the vendor (cypress) that should support fast isochronous transfers but I did not get it work and so seems unfortunately no one

- and yet another point, tschoseff, "open source" does not mean Linux, there are loads of open source projects for win, mac and whats-o-ever, unfortunately no usb driver

may be the INI-File is in the wrong directory. There are many many Bugs. My list of Bugs grows.
Next Version, the INI File will work.
