Hi FXMode and others,
For what it's worth, the QM2000 actually has eight color channels. All of these color channels can be "trained" to do anything -- you just need to know what you want, and also how to do the training.
You may see only six color channels, but in reality, the Intensity and Shutter outputs are also color channels. If you go into the Palette, and do not select the training wizard, you will see an "Advanced" menu. Within this menu, you will see a submenu that allows you to view the additional color channels. When you select this, you will be able to see the Intensity and Shutter channels, and you will be able to set the value of these channels for each color.
It is possible, and not very difficult, to train the color system to invert blanking, and even to train the color system such that the SHUTTER output will behave as an auxilliary output controlled by the "brightness" control. It should actually be amazing exactly how flexible the color system is from the QM2000
All of this being said, I do wish that laser driver manufacturers would "do the right thing". If you do not connect anything to the input -- the laser should be off. If you input zero volts, the laser should be off. Any other functionality is just not safe...
If you need any help with specific training questions, you can write email to me or post to this list and I will try to help.
Best regards,
William Benner
