Probleme bei MP3-Wiedergabe

Hallo zusammen!

Endlich hab Ich mal wieder Zeit, meine Show ein wenig zur Vollendung zu bringen, da tun sich leider ganz andere Probleme auf. Wenn Ich die Wiedergabe starte, ist der Sound total ruckelig und oft verzerrt. Weiß jemand von Euch woran das liegen kann?

Hi Henrik,

ist die MP3 Datei in Ordnung? Wenn ja, versuch mal die *.wav Datei anstelle der MP3 einzubinden. Wenn das geht, schalte mal die enhanced preview ab - die zieht ziehmlich viel Rechenleistung.
Evtl. lang deine Rechnerleistung nicht für MP3 dekodierung und enhanced preview aus.

Hallo!

Die Datei ist in Ordnung. Ist auch bei jeder MP3-datei das Problem, auch ohne Enhaced Prewiew. Und mein P4 2.4 GHz hat das bis jetzt immer geschafft...sonst noch jemand Ideen?

Hallo Henrik,

hast Du vielleicht irgendwelche Hardwareänderungen vorgenommen, oder neue Programme installiert? Wenn z.B ein anderes Musik- oder Tonerzeugungsprogramm im Hintergrung aktiv ist, kann es Probleme geben. Möglicherweise wurden auch Interrupts geändert (Pango und Soundkarte zusammengelegt).

Wenn es vorher funktioniert hat, muß sich ja irgendetwas geändert haben.

Tja, wenns kommt dann kommts auch knüppeldick...wollte vorhin richtig schön lasern, hatte alles aufegabut und angeschlossen, und dann passiertes...Scanner (XYZ-GS120D) gibt nur noch Müll raus, macht wahnsinnig fiese Geräusche, wahrscheinlich Torsos platt, warum auch immer, oder vielleicht hats die Pango erwischt. Ich muß morgen erstmal zum Johannes fahren und die Sachen checken, drückt mir die Daumen, daß meine Karte nix abgekriegt hat, das wär erstmal das Ende meiner Laserei, denn noch so ein Ding kann Ich mir nich leisten...denn heute morgen war irgendwann mal Stromausfall, Ich hoffe da ist nix passiert.

Hi Hendrik,

probier doch mal mit z.B. ShowControl die selbe Show mit MP3 abzuspielen und sieh ob es dann klappt. So kann man der Fehler eventuell einkreisen.

Es gab schon Fälle, wo es damit ging, bei Pangolin aber die Datei verfrüht abgebrochen wurde. Lag irgendwie an der Kombination Showtime/MP3. Mehr Fälle von derartigen Problemen sind mir nicht bekannt.

Zu den Scannern, wenn sie wirklich platt sind, biete ich Dir neue CTs (z.B. hyper-schnelle 6210) im Eintausch gegen die kaputten GS' an, mit Anrechnung natürlich, falls Interesse besteht.

Hi Henrik,

Sorry to hear about your problems. I doubt that the problem is the QM2000, or anything interrupt related. I believe the problem is with the specific MP3 file you are using, or possibly it could be some video board you have installed that is non-standard and has its own MPEG hardware. Here are a few questions.

1. Does this problem only happen with the media player in Showtime, or also with other media players such as Windows Media Player or Winamp?
2. Does the problem happen with EVERY MP3 file, or only what one specific MP3 file?
3. Does the problem happen with WAV files too, or only with MP3 files?

If the problem happens with both Showtime and Windows Media Player, but not Winamp, this could indicate a corrupted CODEC. Winamp uses its own CODEC which is not often or easily corrupted.

If the problem happens with only one specific MP3 file, then it could be that the bitrate of that file is not optimal, or just that there is some limitation of your computer or Showtime to play that bitrate.

If the problem only happens with all MP3 files but it works fine with WAV files, then it points to some custom hardware you have. There are a few video boards that install their own drivers to decode MPEG video. Since MP3 is the audio layer of MPEG, this can interfere with Showtime's ability to use windows as a playback engine for MP3 audio files. If this is the case, it may be solvable, depending on your operating system and a few other factors.

If the problem only happens with MP3 files, but it works with WAV files, then you may convert that MP3 file to a WAV with either Winamp, or other programs like "Right click MP3".

Hallo zusammen!

Zuerst mal Entwarnung! Zum Glück hatte sich nur ein Massekabel an der Treiberkarte gelöst und dadurch das Chaos verursacht. Dabei ist irgendwas am Treiber schrott gegangen, aber der Schaden hält sich absolut noch in Grenzen. Hab das Ganze jetz erstmal beim Johannes gelassen, der checkt das komplett nochmal durch für mich.

The Error actually occurs with every MP3-file, i select in the Audioplayer. The Windows-mediaplayer plays the files correctly. So i tried Pnagolin on antother WinXP-system and it worked fine! So i guess, the Error is in my current WinXP-installation, but I dont know, where it could be. I installed the new Mediaplayer, but without any success. My Graphicsboard is an GF4 Ti4200 Board with the Detonatordriver 44.03 installed. I installed the newest version of my audiocard, a Soundblaster Audigy Player.
The problem could be the CODEC, which CODEC uses Pangolin? Can i change the CODEC in Pangolin?

Hello Henrik,

Pangolin uses the codec associated with MP3 files. This is not straightforward unfortunately... Pangolin uses something called "MCI" which stands for the Media Command Interface. This is a simple way for us to interface with a large number of media, but what we have found is that some video boards that have MPEG hardware will re-define what is associated with MP3 to be the video board rather than the standard audio codec. When this happens, it makes MCI think that an MP3 file is really a video file instead of an audio file. On Windows 95, 98 and ME machines, we can fix this sometimes by editing the WIN.INI or SYSTEM.INI file and correcting the file association. But on XP, I am not sure if this same technique will work... Please send me your WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI file and I will take a look at them.

Flavio was having a very similar problem and he was able to resolve it by uninstalling ZING and Mediaplayer, and then reinstalling Mediaplayer. I am sure that Flavio's problem was ZING, that was overwriting the CODEC used by MCI for MP3 files.

Hi Bill!

Thank you for your help! The Problem still exists, but i decided to program my shows in WAV, where the error doesnt occur. When i reinstall my System in a couple of weeks I will check out, which Software produces this error and I will inform you here in this forum. So you can either try to fix the Problem in an Update of Pangolin if possible or you can tell your Users, that this software produces this error.
