Lasersoftware für Apple??

Hi Folks,<p>Ich habe noch einen Apple Power Mac 8100/80AV (Falls das jemandem was sagt, wenn nicht: altes teil). Den würde ich gerne zum Lasercontroller wandeln, da der sehr stabil und auch recht zügig läuft. Vielleicht kennt ja irgendjemand hier eine Software für Apple, muss nicht Pangolin sein( kann ich mir momentan nicht leisten: bin grade erst angefangen). Meldet euch doch mal

Hi Sonic,<p>mir ist derzeit keine Lasersoftware für Apple Mac bekannt. Vermutlich liegt das daran, daß der Anwendermarkt für solche Software ohnehin schon sehr klein ist und man darum wenigstens für die Mehrzahl dieser Anwender entwickeln möchte. Das wäre eine Erklärung warum sich noch keinen an dieses Feld gemacht hat. So weit ich weiß sind Macs eher in TV- und Grahik-Studios zu Hause und weniger bei Privat-, Hobby- und Showanwendern.<p>Gruß

Hi Sonic,<p>Over the years, there have been a few systems for the Apple series of computers. Perhaps the first was a system called "Apple DACS" from Laser Systems Development Corporation in Colorado, USA. This system ran on the Apple II and was very limited. There have been other German systems for the Apple II from what I have heard.<p>More recently, there was a system developed called ChoreoGraphics from Laser Images incorporated in California USA. This system ran on the newer Mac series. I am not sure if it works on the Power MACs or not. I am also not sure if they even still sell the system. At the time, this system sold for around $12000.<p>You can find out more about this system at www.laserium.com<p>Aside from that, I think that what Patrick wrote is correct -- due to the extremely narrow market that is served by laser entertainment software, there really isn't incentive for MAC developers to go after this market.<p>Best regards,<p>William Benner
