Post by majorlee » Thu 16 Oct, 2008 3:55 pm

Hi

I have a 2 new RGB laser and want to use it for shows in Germany in Clubs and Projections for displays etc

Since this is mainly a German based forum can anyone tell me the laws involved and if i need to get permits to do shows etc

one of my RGB units is class 3B and the other is class 4

thinking about going to do a training course but tbh its all a bit obvious with the safety issues, but can anyone recommend a good one:)

hope u can help

Do you already have Laser-Equipment?: Pangolin Pro and lots of lasers...about 700W optical output in total :-) ...and it's getting more every day...

Hello majorlee,

in germany you normally need a local company that covers your work, because rules are very complicated. You will need a local laser safety person who is "LSB" (Laserschutzbeauftragter). You have to write a detailed letter to the local public administration (for every use of lasers in public areas), and normally you will need a certificate of the german "TÜV", which will be done on each location and is very expensive. The TÜV will check if your equipment has keyswitches and lockable emergency switches, if your equipment has all important safety and information stickers, if you have placed all lasers 2,7m above the heads of the audience, if you follow german rules/laws, if the scanning safeties are working, if the measured optical power is under german "MZB" (equal to NOHD, but a bit more complicated, because in germany you are allowed to do audience scanning)...and so on.

If you are not from germany, you should ask companies to help you...

If you are still interested, this is the company which does most of all tour support across germany: http://www.laserfabrik.com (working for all big companies around the world)

Hey.
