bIlda - Still alive?

Post by carmangary » Sun 02 Nov, 2008 2:18 pm

Is the bIlda dac still being made, developed, used? I think this DAC is very interesting. I would like to add support for it to my laser show software but I realize it is intended for Linux. I'd certainly be willing to help write Windows drivers for it if that was required.

Hello :)

I have the bILDA DAC and I still use it because I don't have money for a Lumax or an EasyLase.

Mostly I use the bILDA with HE-Laserscan but sometimes with Popelscan.

The DAC works very well with Popelscan because the developer has made a perfect driver for Popelscan.

Unfortunatly the developer doesen't want to give the driver to other software-developer to built the driver in their software.

Because of this the bILDA doesen't work with HE-LS very well. The output is flickering because only every second frame is send to the output.

Also the output quality is very bad and there are faults with the interpolation.

The developer of HE-LS built his own driver jears ago on his own. Because only a few freaks are using the bILDA he stopped the development.

If there is anyone who is good at building drivers/firmwares for windows and the AN2135SC for his software or maybe for HE-LS you can try it, but it will be very hard work I think.

I was able to get the iShow DAC to work with Spaghetti. It may be possible to do the same with the bIlda but I don't have one to test with.

Popelscan DOES NOT work with Lumax/Minilumax.

Popelscan only works with bILDA and EasyLase I.

No that's wrong.

The new version of Popelscan (Poplescan 4.2) is made for ordinary scanners.

Only older versions would kill the scanner because th einterpolation is missing.

Spaghetti supports the mini lumax. It's a bit more advanced than PopelScan. It is not free but is inexpensive.
