Hi all,
Any idea's how I can convert my 3ds max .avi files that I have created into .ilda ?
Finding 3ds max nice to use for 3d work and animation, used "electric rain", I think to render in single line... just need to convert now....?

Hi,
it would be a very difficult task for the software to find out the right edges and lines in pixel-based avi-frames. So as far as I know there is no software that does this conversion.
But Pangolin has a piece of software called "Lasershow Converter MAX" to get the 3d frames out of 3Ds-Max and convert it to a Pangolin file.
Pangolin Page!
But maybe that is no solution for you if you are no Pangolin user ... and it's very expensive.

Hi,
For LDS/Phoenix there´s also a tool which is able to convert directly from 3DS-Files to Ilda-Files. It works great. But of course you´ll see the difference between a hand-drawn show and a converted 3D-File. One example for this was the last award-winning grafic-show "Earth-Song". Very nice story, but the animations were of course not as brilliant as a traditional show.
Cheers, Gebbi

I asked Lennart (
LDS) some months ago regarding this converter.
Answer I got was that it's not for sale (yet).
Since last week it is announced on the LDS-Website, maybe it can be bought by now.
Price would be interesting to know...
