Gratings From Creative Laser

Creative Laser Production has developed its first computer generated digital grating, the Machado, which produces hundreds of colored beams over a wide fan angle. The new grating is said to offer performance similar to the popular Machida grating, but at far less cost. The German manufacturer used a CAD interferometric simulation to optimize the Machado’s relief structure. The grating was then inscribed with an electron beam lithographic process similar to that used to create state-of-the- art semiconductor chips. Creative Laser Production has also developed a new Poly-10-Sector grating. The grating incorporates 10 improved patterns on a single 50mm glass disc. Compared to the existing Poly-20-Sector, the new grating provides larger sectors that can accommodate 8mm beam apertures.
