Laser-MAME Open Source Project - All Source code is online!

Dear Laserists,

For those of you who may be interested, you are now able to download a copy of all MAME (and related) source code packages, including the Laser-MAME patch source code directly and instantly from the Laser-MAME Open Source Project website (http://www.nightlase.com.au/lasermame). The Laser-MAME patch source code is released under the Gnu Public License (GPL).

Below is a list of the downloads that you require in order to compile the Laser-MAME patches into the MAME code base:

1. The original MAME source code from www.mame.net - version 0.78.
mame078s.zip (9.5MB)

2. VCMAME - Visual C patches to MAME at www.vcmame.net - version

3. zlib 1.14 - also available from www.vcmame.net

4. NASMW - Network Assembler for Win32 version 0.98.38 -

I'm also building arcade machine to play arcade jamma games on my t.v. (supergun)
And i really like your laser mame project.
For sure, i will try it, as soon as my laser is finish.

Can you tell me what is the maximum frame rate, with the best king of scanners? (6210)

Is it possible to use 2 scan-systems to split the picture in 2 and get 2 times more frames per secondes?

Hi Tek-Man,

Thanks very much - hope it will be helpful to you!

Frame-rate will depend on quite a few factors, including how fast your PC runs, how fast your D/A runs and how fast your galvos run.
I have managed to obtain ~20fps on a PIII-500MHz running WinXP with a QM2000 using 6800HP @ 30k ILDA.

I would probably recommend the 6215's, but 6210's should give a good performance.

You might be able to split the frame, but the computational-time required may actually be detrimental and result in an overall decrease in performance. It will depend on many things though. Here, I'd typically suggest for you to go ahead and experiment - see what you can obtain!
