Hi!
I have recently taken an interst in my lasers again. I have about 14 HeNe and i am about to buy Popelscan v 1.9 (laser scaning program) from Guido. He Has his own forum here. I am a litle tired of my HeNe and I want to get an Argon now. I have tried with xerox and asked them for their old industrial printers since I know they contain argon lasers inside, but they already threw them al away! (what a waste!). I have looked at ebay but most of them refuse to ship outside of the states. Also my pocket is a litle dry of money right now. Does anybody here have a suggestion? Perhaps my HeNe laser tubes are worth something? They range from 1mW to 16mW, most of them about 10mW or even more. These are just tubes but they al work. Greetings,

What do you think to take 1 DPSS-Laser? They ar smaller than Argon, you can see the beam eight times brighter than the one from a argon, TTL-modulation for blanking, but only in green (also blue, but too expensive! <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />).
The Argon from Xerox are the ALC60.

Thanx for the reply. I checked out that page, still a litle too expensive for me. I have popelscan at home, I am waiting for the hardware from Guido. Do you have it? Does it work well?

Hatschi has given me some ideas and I am convinced now to build my own DPSS laser. I think I have read just about everything I could get hold on about these on Sam´s hompage. I am still in search for an Argon though, but totally convinced to build a DPSS!! Cant wait to get this project started. Wish me good luck and I will keep you informed of my progress.
