RGB laser

Beitrag von werner1619 » Di 26 Jun, 2007 4:34 pm

Hi
Started to build a new RGB system and was wondering if someone could give some advise?
The red laser 635nm, has a beam diameter of 6mm and is square, I would like to make the beam diameter the same as the other lasers, 3mm

What do the manufacturers do with their highpower 635nm red lasers to keep the beam of an acceptable size?

Greetings

Werner

He reduce the diameter via pinhole of 3mm ( with reduced power)

best regards

hello, I don't speak english very well!!

You can reduce the diameter of your red laser beam but his divergence will be increased.

you have to use a "telescope". It's 2 convergent lenses wich focal points are confused. you can take a look into french section if you understand french.

so good bye and best regards

Hi

Unfortunely, red lasers with 635nm and good beam quality don't exist on the market- divergence or beam diameter at the aperture are everything worser than red diodes

Red diodes are the best compromise between divergence/diameter. Wavenlenght is between 650-660nm, depend of the temperature.
This type of diode need cooling.

Output power of these diode can be up to 220mW, when combine two of them with a polarizing cube, it's also possible to have more than 400mW, include the losses.

diodes have 2mm beam diameter and very low divergence around 0.5 - 1mrad

I don't recommand to use DPSS redlaser, because wavenlenght is not brightness (671nm), and price expensive

Just have a look at this post. You can see how to reduce the diameter on the picture.
